Sustainability Appraisal/Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)

To ensure that strategies, programmes and plans are developed in accordance with principles of sustainability and guided by existing policy influences in this area, it is often a legal requirement to undertake a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). Another option in some instances is a Sustainability Appraisal (SA).

Paul has experience in both of these areas for Municipal Waste Management Strategy development, and has received training in Sustainability Appraisal using the NW Integrated Appraisal Toolkit. Options Appraisal tools and skills are also important for SEA applications.
