Job Vacancy - Senior or Principal Waste Management & Resource Consultant

A part time, flexible and potentially home based technical post in a growing environmental consultancy focussed on resources and waste (e.g. recycling, circular economy). The consultancy is based in Bridgnorth, Shropshire however if the best candidates are based elsewhere in the UK and have a track record of consultancy or working in the waste sector, then it should be appropriate to work from home at any location in the UK. The post is flexible with 25 hours per week, over either 4 or 5 days per week. There would be a requirement to manage projects and lead elements of technical work.

It is a consultancy position, likely to be undertaking work with local authorities, central Government (and agencies) and the private sector. There is substantial scope for development within the company in a variety of areas. We are looking for an individual with some relevant experience, in one of: environmental consultancy; waste management consultancy; a waste related Council role, or; other technical / waste management role. The candidate should have good written work, Excel and analytical skills to support our environmental modelling and reporting activities. Experience in relevant fields (like procurement, business case development, project management) would be an advantage, however we are open minded to wider skills. The consultancy delivers a wide range of projects for the public and private sectors, mostly for Councils in the UK, some central Government work and for the private sector and some international projects (we have recently worked in Tanzania and Malta).

The role is a permanent part time position (25 hours per week, over 4 or 5 days), with a 6 month probationary period.

Salary:- £14.00 - £19.00/hour depending on experience and skills.

Minimum requirements:- Some experience in environmental consultancy and/ or resource & waste management is essential. Membership of a relevant professional body preferred, but not essential. Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Science, Geography, Engineering).
